From February to May: A Transylvania admitted student journey

students walking on campus

The months between February and May feel different from any other time. The excitement of being admitted slowly settles into something steadier and more personal. You may start picturing everyday life. Walking through Back Circle on your way to class. Sitting in the Campus Center or Gratz Perk between lectures. Hearing laughter that drifts from pick-up games on the lawn. Wandering into the bookstore to grab Transy swag and a Pioneer T-shirt you can wear with pride.

At Transylvania University this time is not just about decisions and deadlines. It is the beginning of belonging.

February invites you to imagine

February is often quieter, but it is full of possibilities. Campus has found its rhythm, and you begin to see Transy not simply as a place you visited, but as a place you could live. You notice small details. The way students greet one another as they move through Back Circle. The hum of conversation that carries from classrooms into the Campus Center and Gratz Perk. The way visiting friends say, “I can see myself here.”

This is also when admitted students often begin spending time on Transy.edu, your one-stop hub for the next steps after admission. It is a space where you can visit everything from housing to FAFSA to fraternities and sororities to real-world career development

As you continue to imagine life here, you also begin to imagine student life. Maybe it is attending a club meeting with new classmates. Maybe it is seeing your name on a Pioneer intramural roster or attending a performance in one of the campus venues. Maybe it is finding your favorite seat in the Campus Center or knowing that your name and your story matter here.

March brings connection and experience

March is when the Transy experience begins to feel tangible. The first Admitted Student Day takes place Friday, March 20, giving you the chance to experience campus with other admitted students who are asking the same questions you are.

These days are not about presentations alone. They are about sitting in classrooms, talking with professors, sharing meals in the Campus Center or over coffee at Gratz Perk, and hearing current students describe what made Transy feel right to them. You might walk through Alumni Plaza with future classmates and pause to imagine heading to basketball games, art exhibitions or performances on Transy’s beautiful campus.

This is also when many students begin to think seriously about living on campus. Residence halls are not just places to sleep. They are communities where friendships form, where study sessions stretch into late evenings, where students gather for movie nights or social events. Exploring housing options helps you imagine not just where you will live, but how your days will unfold.

Registration for Admitted Student Days is available in your admitted student portal.

April deepens clarity

April often brings a deeper sense of clarity. Another Admitted Student Day will take place Friday, April 3, offering an additional opportunity to connect, ask questions and spend time on campus.

For some students, this is when they begin to feel ready to commit. For others, it is a time to revisit your portal, review housing options again or talk with family. There is no single right timeline. Enrollment deposits may be submitted at any time after admission through the student portal.

Once a deposit is submitted, your portal becomes even more important. This is where the details you need next are gathered, including housing details, orientation planning and first-year academic advising. Many students describe this stage as a shift. Less wondering, more confidence.

May is when preparation begins

May carries both endings and beginnings. Senior year winds down and conversations shift from decisions to preparation. You begin thinking about orientation, your first classes and the people you will meet in the fall. You may imagine walking into Gratz Perk with classmates you met at Admitted Student Days and grabbing your go-to drink between discussions about your fall term schedule.

This is also when orientation details and academic planning become more tangible. You learn about fall term, winter term and May term. You begin imagining the professors who will challenge you, the classes that will stretch your thinking and the experiences that will stay with you long after graduation.

These steps are practical, but they are deeply personal. They turn excitement into readiness.

A Pioneer community begins before you arrive

Life at Transy is shaped by relationships long before the first day of class. By the time you arrive for orientation, you will recognize faces from Admitted Student Days, feel familiar with campus spaces and have a sense of where you belong.

You will have seen Transy in winter and spring light. You will have felt the warmth of conversations in Back Circle, the Campus Center and Gratz Perk. You will have taken your first steps into a community that values curiosity, connection and care.

That is the journey from February to May. At Transylvania University, this time does more than prepare you for college. It begins to make this place feel like home.
