ENG 3204 – The Romantic Lyric

A study of the lyric as it was transformed by British Romantics into a vehicle for sustained introspection and psychological analysis. The course explores the ethical and political dimensions of these aesthetic developments and situates them within a history of revolutions, British, American, and French. Authors may include William Wordsworth, Coleridge, Blake, the Shelleys, Keats, and others. Prerequisite: ENG-2674 or ENG-2474 or ENG-2484 and FYS-1104. IV; V
