Transylvania volleyball spikes up to 18th in latest national coaches poll

Transylvania University’s volleyball team on Tuesday moved up to the No. 18 spot in the the American Volleyball Coaches Association Top 25 poll.

The Pioneers, who entered the top 25 for the first time in the 18-year history of the program last week at No. 22, are off to their best start ever with a 12-2 record.

The team plays Maryville (Tenn.) College on the road tonight at 7.

Transylvania expanded its program-best winning streak to 11 matches by sweeping all three opponents last week in straight sets, including a pair of home wins over Ohio Wesleyan and Marietta this past Saturday in a tri-match at the Beck Center.
