First-time Student Application
We’re so glad you’re interested in making Transylvania your college home. We have a committed staff of admission counselors who can help you through the application process.
It all begins with an application. A first-time college student is any student who has not been enrolled at a college or university. Students who have taken college-level or dual-credit courses while in high school are considered first-time students.
If you are a transfer or international student, or you’re applying for readmission or non-degree admission, please follow the links below.

Transylvania University also accepts the Common Application.
If you have been enrolled in a college or university, please refer to the transfer student application page.
If you are an international student, please use the international student application page.
If you are a past Transy student applying for readmission, please complete this readmission application.
If you would like to attend Transy without seeking a degree, please complete the Non-degree admission application.
We will also need the following from you to complete the application process:
Transylvania has adopted a test-optional policy for the admissions and scholarship process. This policy allows applicants to decide for themselves whether or not their test results accurately reflect their academic ability and potential. You can choose whether or not to submit your ACT or SAT test scores as a part of your application. Find out how to apply without submitting your scores.

OFFICIAL ACT AND/OR SAT SCORES
If you take the standardized test, please remember to send your scores to Transylvania.
Our codes are: ACT – 1550, SAT – 1808
Transylvania University considers both the ACT, old SAT or redesigned SAT for admission and scholarship consideration. For the old SAT, we will only consider scores on the Critical Reading and Math sections.
For the redesigned SAT, we only consider the Evidence-Based Reading and Writing and Math sections. Score reports can be sent directly to the Office of Admissions from ACT and/or SAT. Scores appearing on official high school transcripts will also be accepted.
OFFICIAL HIGH SCHOOL TRANSCRIPT
Your high school transcript is an important piece of the application. There are two ways to have this information sent to Transylvania University:
Upon receiving an email generated by the Common Application, your guidance counselor can follow the link to the Common Application website where there are instructions for uploading the information; or your guidance counselor can mail your transcript directly to the Transylvania Office of Admissions.
Address to mail transcripts:

SCHOOL ADMINISTRATOR RECOMMENDATION
Your school administrator (guidance counselor, teacher, principal, etc.) can submit a recommendation on your behalf via the Common Application system.
If you are completing the Transy Application, the essay is waived. If you are completing the Common Application, instructions are provided within the application for uploading your essay file. Please note that if you want to qualify for Premier Scholarships, the essay is required for either application.
OFFICIAL COLLEGE TRANSCRIPTS (IF APPLICABLE)
If you have taken college or university courses during high school, have an official copy of your final transcript forwarded to the Office of Admissions.
