Transylvania University’s Office of Marketing and Communications was recently recognized for excellence for work produced in 2023 as part of the 39th annual Educational Advertising Awards. Transylvania received three gold awards and one bronze for the four items created by the university’s marketing team.
According to its website, the annual awards program tests advertising “programs and campaigns against the best in the country.” Judges for the Educational Advertising Awards consisted of a national panel of higher education marketers, advertising creative directors, and marketing and advertising professionals who evaluate creativity, marketing execution and message impact.
This year, more than 2,000 entries were received in 57 categories from over 1,000 colleges, universities and secondary schools in all 50 states and around the world. Overall, the competition presented just 480 gold awards to less than a quarter of the entries. Fewer than half of the entries were awarded.
“For the last three years, the work of Transy’s marketing and communications professionals has been repeatedly recognized as being industry leading within the field of higher education marketing and advertising,” said Megan Moloney, vice president for marketing and communications. “We are truly honored to have national experts review what we do and continue to place us among the best in the country.”
For 2023, Transylvania presented its work in four categories, including print, graphic design and digital media. The awards include:
- The 1780 blog received a gold award in the Blogs category for the second year in a row.
- A Star Wars Day post received a gold award in the Facebook Content category.
- The new online version of Third & Broadway, the university’s magazine, received a gold award in the Online Publications category.
- Promotion of the 2023 Transylvania Pioneers Women’s Basketball National Championship, including design work, social media and blog posts, garnered a bronze award in the Special Promotions category.
According to program organizers, the Educational Advertising Awards is the largest, oldest and most respected educational advertising awards competition in the country.
