The purpose of the Career development Center is to help students and graduates of Transylvania University develop and implement career plans. We promote quality services that provide students with a comprehensive career education program that builds upon the liberal arts background.
Transylvania University’s Career development Center encourages and promotes a career development model that allows students to discover their potential through self-knowledge and knowledge about the world of work. We encourage students to make informed decisions about their career goals in relation to their personality, values, skills, and interests.
The services offered are designed to prepare the students for the initiation of a successful career and/or a post baccalaureate education. Workshops on resumes, interviewing, job search strategies, dining etiquette, networking, and creating a life development plan are just some of the opportunities we present. Also available are catalogs and directories for graduate and professional school, as well as a wide range of library resources.
We provide internship opportunities for hands-on experience to find out if a particular type of work is suited to you. In addition, the Career Development Center offers chances to interview for positions during on-campus recruiting and at our annual February Career Fair, Spotlight on Employment. For students’ ease, we suggest participation in a taped mock interview with the staff to prepare for challenging questions and responses for employers.
