Transylvania video tour gives prospective students path to explore campus online

Transylvania Virtual Tour

For prospective students wanting to check out Transylvania University online, the school offers a virtual tour that includes 20 videos exploring academics, campus life, admissions and unique Transy traditions — they’ll also find an interactive campus map.

The video viewbook gives students an initial introduction to Transylvania, with the end goal of getting prospective students to visit in person. Schedule a visit.

“We can’t see everything from a brochure,” said Vice President for Admissions Johnnie Johnson in one of the videos. “In order to find out if Transylvania’s the best place for you, you must visit our campus.”

The videos feature interviews with faculty, staff, students and alumni who share how the Transylvania experience is highly individual.

“You’re not a number in a crowd. You really have a personalized experience here. And, also, when you leave Transy, you’re the best in your field,” said biochemistry major Taylen Henry ’22.

Business and marketing major Jacob Miller ’21 shared that his decision was influenced by the dedication of Transy’s faculty. He quickly realized how much of a relationship students have with faculty. “I could tell that they could just go to a professor for anything they needed, and I really liked that,” Miller said.

Transylvania partnered with StudentBridge to create the online visit experience, which gives viewers a chance to watch the videos that most interest them, as well as save a “playlist” of videos to come back to later. Research from StudentBridge shows students who used their online virtual tours were 10 times more likely to apply for enrollment.
