The University of Kentucky women’s basketball program was a generous guest at the Clive M. Beck Center over the last two months, honoring four members of the Transylvania community as part of its Power of Women series.

The Wildcats hosted visiting teams at Transylvania when they couldn’t play at Rupp Arena, their temporary home during Memorial Coliseum renovations.

The Transylvania honorees were (pictured clockwise) Krissalyn Love, director of diversity and inclusion; Holly Sheilley, vice president for athletics; Rebecca Thomas, vice president for academic affairs and dean of the university; and education professor Tiffany Wheeler, associate dean for academic affairs.

They got to meet UK head coach Kyra Elzy and received a commemorative basketball during the games.

“Since 2018, the University of Kentucky women’s basketball program has honored female leaders in the greater Lexington area that serve as great examples of the power of women,” according to UK.

The Wildcats won all four games they played in Beck.

Transylvania’s own women’s basketball team is doing superlatively well. The national champs have won 45 games in a row, the longest active winning streak in college basketball.
