Pell Guarantee

The Pell Guarantee (formerly 1780 Guarantee) assures that full tuition and fees will be covered for Pell Grant-eligible students through a combination of institutional, federal, and state grants/scholarships for high school or homeschool graduates throughout Kentucky.

This program was launched new students in 2023-24 and continues for new students enrolling at Transylvania in Fall 2024. Students must submit the Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA), have a minimum 3.3 weighted GPA and apply for admission by February 1. All Kentucky students will be automatically considered for eligibility upon application.

Federal Student Aid

Filing the FAFSA each year is the most important step toward receiving federal and state aid funds (loans, grants and work-study) and aid directly from Transylvania. Virtually every Transy applicant who completes the FAFSA is offered some form of aid, with an average package of approximately $30,000 per year.

File the FAFSA using Transy’s ID: 001987

First-time Student Application

We’re so glad you’re interested in making Transylvania your college home. We have a committed staff of admission counselors who can help you through the application process.

It all begins with an application. A first-time college student is any student who has not been enrolled at a college or university. Students who have taken college-level or dual-credit courses while in high school are considered first-time students.
