Family Weekend offers families the opportunity to spend time with their student on campus and experience Transylvania firsthand. Throughout the weekend, families can connect with faculty and staff, explore campus, and learn more about the academic and co-curricular experiences that shape student life at Transy.
From athletic events and concerts to student life presentations and time to explore the city of Lexington, Family Weekend provides a meaningful look at life at Transylvania.
Schedule
From Friday through Sunday, families can enjoy a mix of student life and academic events, including open houses, showcases, and presentations, as well as performances, exhibitions, and campus traditions. The weekend also includes athletics and spirit events, along with time to explore campus and the surrounding area with your student.

Friday, Oct. 23
- 8:30 a.m. -3:30 p.m.
As part of Transylvania University’s 2026 Family Weekend, families are invited to experience a glimpse of the Transy academic experience by sitting in on select classes on Friday, October 23. Please sign up in advance for a classroom visit. - 4-5 p.m. — Fraternity & sorority open houses
Families are invited to stop by fraternity and sorority open houses during Family Weekend! Meet members of our Greek community, tour chapter spaces, and learn more about fraternity and sorority life at Transylvania. - 8 p.m. — Ghost Tours
Get ready for a spooky stroll through Transy! The Theater Guild will host Ghost Tours around campus, sharing haunting tales and eerie stories along the way. RSVP information coming soon, if you dare!
Saturday, Oct. 24
- 9:30 & 11 a.m.
Special Collections Library Tours (RSVP in advance – limited spaces) - 1 p.m. — Men’s Soccer vs. Anderson
- 2 p.m. — Tricks, Treats, & Crafts!
Stop by to make some fun Halloween-themed crafts and get creative together. This activity is kid-friendly and perfect for family members of all ages! - 3:30 p.m. — Women’s Soccer vs. Anderson
- 5:30-7:30 p.m. — Family Reception at Graham Cottage
Enjoy catered hors d’oeuvres and appetizers from Bon Appétit, along with alcoholic and non-alcoholic beverages. Faculty, deans, and other members of the Transylvania community will be in attendance to mingle with students and families. This is a casual, come-and-go event, so stop by whenever you can! - 8 p.m. — Ghost Tours
