Welcoming theater students from all over our local region, one school will move on to the state’s final competition where the winner will perform at the Southeastern Theater Conference, the biggest theater conference in the country.

In honor of Women’s History Month, Transy Theater presents Hellman’s controversial 1934 theatrical debut which erupted on Broadway but was shut down in cities including Boston, Chicago and London. When an unruly student weaponizes fear and misinformation, her schoolteachers Karen and Martha must fight to save their all-girls boarding school and themselves. A riveting exploration of shame, survival and the questions we ask (or reject) to seek truth. Free tickets will be available to the public two weeks before opening.
