From the President
Dear Friends of Transylvania,
It is my great pleasure to introduce the Summer 2025 issue of the Third & Broadway magazine, highlighting the remarkable ways our alumni, students and faculty continue to make a lasting impact in our community and beyond.
At Transylvania, we are passionate about empowering students to excel in every aspect of their lives. That’s why I’m excited to share stories from our “Writing for and with Nonprofits” course, where students gain invaluable professional skills by partnering with local organizations on real-world communication projects. This initiative underscores our commitment to excellence and our focus on preparing students for meaningful careers.
This issue also celebrates professor Don Dugi, who recently retired after 50 years of dedicated service. His extraordinary contributions embody the hands-on, experiential learning central to a Transylvania education and strengthen the bonds within our campus community.
I also invite you to join us in celebrating our graduating Class of 2025. These resilient graduates have navigated the challenges of starting college during the pandemic to forge a strong community, proving how a liberal arts background provides the versatility to thrive in any field.
Innovation is a cornerstone of the Transylvania experience. This issue highlights the launch of our Sanders-Siebers Entrepreneurship Hub, a dynamic new space for student innovation, and introduces Kaelyn Query Caldwell, the newly appointed full-time director of the Center for Entrepreneurship.
Each of these stories illustrates how Transylvania University’s distinctive education shapes individuals who make meaningful contributions across diverse fields. We hope these articles inspire you and reinforce the connection we all share as part of the Transy community.
Thank you for your continued support of Transylvania. I look forward to all that we will achieve together in the years to come.
In Pioneer spirit,
