At Transylvania University, preparing students for life after graduation is central to its mission.

A Transylvania education emphasizes real-world readiness by equipping students with the skills, experiences and confidence needed to navigate life beyond college. That commitment continues to grow with the launch of the Transylvania University Digital Financial Literacy Course(s), presented by WesBanco.

This initiative provides all students with access to essential financial education through a digital platform integrated into campus systems. Topics include budgeting, credit management, investing and long-term financial planning. These are critical skills that shape students’ lives well beyond their time on campus.

The program also reflects Transylvania’s focus on applied learning.

Through its partnership with WesBanco, students will engage with financial professionals through mentorship, workshops and classroom experiences. These opportunities connect academic learning with practical decision-making and help students build confidence in managing their financial futures.

“Strong community partnerships like the one we’ve built with WesBanco create meaningful opportunities for our students to engage with real-world expertise,” said Kaelyn Query Caldwell, director of the Center for Entrepreneurship. “This collaboration ensures students are not only learning financial concepts but also applying them in ways that support long-term success.”

The initiative is part of a broader strategy to connect students with organizations that invest in their personal and professional development.

“At Transylvania, we focus on partnerships that expand opportunity for our students,” said Raymond Daniels, special assistant to the president for strategic partnerships and community relations. “WesBanco shares our commitment to financial literacy and student success, and together we are helping students build the knowledge they need to make informed decisions throughout their lives.”

The program is available to students, faculty and staff, reinforcing a campus-wide commitment to financial awareness and lifelong learning.

Whether students are preparing for their first job, considering graduate school or launching a business, the initiative supports their transition from classroom learning to real-world application.

At Transylvania, success after college is not only about knowledge. It is about using that knowledge with confidence. Learn more about how Transylvania supports innovation and real-world experience through the Center for Entrepreneurship.
