Transylvania University invites you to Family Weekend 2025. Join us October 24–26 for a weekend filled with campus traditions, Pioneer spirit and seasonal Halloween fun. This annual event is the perfect opportunity to spend time with your student, connect with other families and experience life at Transy.
Schedule of Events
Friday, October 24
- Admissions Preview Day — Explore the Transy experience and connect with campus.
- 4–5 p.m. | Fraternity and Sorority Open Houses — Visit chapter spaces, meet members and learn more about fraternity and sorority life.
- 7:30 p.m. | Spooky Campus Center Cinema: Hocus Pocus — Will be held in the Pioneer Room. Popcorn provided.
Saturday, October 25
- 10 a.m.–Noon | Family Reception Brunch — Join your student, other families and members of the Transy community for a brunch reception.
- 2 p.m. | Women’s Volleyball Game — Cheer on the Pioneers in an exciting home match.
- 3 p.m. | Spooktacular Concert — Enjoy a lively performance with seasonal surprises from Transylvania’s musicians.
- 6 p.m. | Family Weekend Dinner — A festive meal for families, students, faculty and staff to celebrate the Transylvania community.
- 8 p.m. | Ghost Tours — Discover Lexington’s haunted history on a guided evening tour.
Sunday, October 26
- 11 a.m.–3 p.m. | Pumpkinmania Carving — A Transylvania tradition. Carve pumpkins, enjoy student-led activities and visit food trucks while hundreds of jack-o’-lanterns illuminate Old Morrison. Reservations required.
- 1 p.m. and 3 p.m. | Library Special Collections Tours — Take a behind-the-scenes look at rare books, manuscripts and archives.
- 4:45 p.m. | City of Lexington Halloween Festival — Celebrate downtown with entertainment, costumes and food.
- 6:30 p.m. | Thriller Parade — End the weekend with Lexington’s world-famous Thriller parade through the streets.
