To apply for these scholarships, students must submit their application for admission by February 1 for enrollment beginning the following fall.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Contact your&nbsp;<a href=\"https:\/\/www.transy.edu\/admission\/meet-counselors\">admissions counselor<\/a>&nbsp;for more information on any of these scholarships.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Pell Guarantee<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p>The Pell Guarantee (formerly 1780 Guarantee) assures that full tuition and fees will be covered through a combination of institutional, federal, and state grants\/scholarships for recent high school or homeschool graduates in Kentucky who are&nbsp;<a href=\"https:\/\/studentaid.gov\/understand-aid\/types\/grants\/pell&amp;#93\">Pell Grant eligible<\/a>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Students must submit the FAFSA, have a minimum 3.3 weighted GPA and apply for admission by February 1. Students will be automatically considered for eligibility upon application.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<div class=\"wp-block-buttons is-layout-flex wp-block-buttons-is-layout-flex\">\n<div class=\"wp-block-button\"><a class=\"wp-block-button__link wp-element-button\" href=\"https:\/\/www.transy.edu\/financial-aid\/scholarships-grants\/pell-guarantee\/\">More about the Pell Guarantee<\/a><\/div>\n<\/div>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Appalachian Regional Healthcare Scholarship<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p>Transylvania has partnered with Appalachian Regional Healthcare to give students from Appalachia the opportunity to earn scholarship money to Transy and return home to work for ARH in one of many career fields. Eligible academic programs include pre-health, pre-medical, pre-pharmacy, physical therapy, computer science, accounting, business management and social services.&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Students selected for the scholarship program may receive up to $15,000 over four years \u2014 in addition to other merit and need-based aid \u2014 and will have access to experiential learning opportunities during their undergraduate studies in the form of summer work, mentorships and internships with ARH. These awards&nbsp;<em>cannot be combined<\/em>&nbsp;with other merit-based scholarships but provide a baseline for academic awarding. If a student qualifies for a higher merit-based scholarship, the higher amount will be awarded.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<hr class=\"wp-block-separator has-alpha-channel-opacity\" \/>\n\n\n\n<p>Participants in the <strong>Governor&#8217;s Scholars<\/strong>, <strong>Governor\u2019s School for the Arts<\/strong> and <strong>Governor\u2019s School for Entrepreneurs<\/strong> programs receive a guaranteed minimum award of <strong>$27,000 <\/strong>per year.&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li><strong>Kentucky Governor\u2019s Scholars<\/strong><\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong>Kentucky Governor\u2019s School for the Arts<\/strong><\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong>Kentucky Governor\u2019s School for Entrepreneurs<\/strong><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<hr class=\"wp-block-separator has-alpha-channel-opacity\" \/>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\" id=\"ib\"><strong>IB Scholarship<\/strong><\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p>International Baccalaureate Programme participants can receive scholarships ranging from&nbsp;<strong>$10,000<\/strong>\/year (diploma courses) to&nbsp;<strong>$18,000<\/strong>\/year (full diploma candidates).<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>We know the kind of research you\u2019re doing in your IB studies. You\u2019re making connections across disciplines and gaining a greater perspective on complex global issues.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>These are skills that Transylvania is known for fostering in our students, so you\u2019re going to come into your first year uniquely prepared to excel in our liberal arts curriculum. Let us help you apply your IB training to one of our 48 majors and reward you for your hard work.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>IB Scholars are Guaranteed<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Scholarships ranging from $10,000\/year (Diploma Courses) to $18,000\/year (Full Diploma candidates)<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>College credit for HL exam scores of 5, 6 or 7<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>College credit for IB SL exam scores of 6 or 7<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>An extra unit of credit for 30 points or higher on the Diploma<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Early entry into the 100 Doors to Success mentor program. Students will be paired with an experienced mentor who will help guide them through their four years of college and into the workforce.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Internship opportunities for academic credit<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Special admission application that allows you to submit a piece of IB work instead of an essay for admission<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/www.transy.edu\/academics\/liberal-arts-curriculum\/academic-requirements\/international-baccalaureate\/\"><strong>Recently awarded credits in the IB program<\/strong><\/a><\/p>\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Tuition Exchange Scholarships<\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p>Only family members of employees of the colleges and universities that belong to Tuition Exchange Inc. are eligible to apply for Tuition Exchange scholarships. Please visit&nbsp;<a href=\"http:\/\/www.tuitionexchange.org\/\">Tuition Exchange\u2019s website<\/a>&nbsp;for more information.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\" id=\"interest\"><strong>Interest-Related Scholarships&nbsp;<\/strong><\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p>These scholarships&nbsp;<em>are eligible&nbsp;to be combined<\/em>&nbsp;with any merit-based scholarship. Students are awarded based on a variety of factors, such as leadership, involvement, financial need, interest in non-NCAA athletics, religious affiliation, legacy status, etc.&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>For more information on these scholarships, please contact the Office of Admissions at 859-233-8242.<\/p>\n\n\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\">First Generation Scholarship<\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p>The First Generation Scholarship of <strong>$4,000 per year ($16,000 over four years)<\/strong> is offered to students who are admitted for fall 2025 or later and who will be in the first generation of their family to complete a college degree. This scholarship can be combined with other academic scholarships. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Legacy Scholarship<\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p>Students admitted for fall 2025 or later who have a parent, step-parent, grandparent, step-grandparent, sibling or step-sibling that is&nbsp;considered a Transylvania alum will receive a renewable&nbsp;<strong>$3,000 scholarship ($12,000 over four years)<\/strong>&nbsp;that can be combined with other academic scholarships. Siblings of current Transylvania students are also eligible.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\" id=\"h-cardwell-french-language-scholarship\">Cardwell French Language Scholarship<\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p>The Douglas and Marilyn Cardwell French Language Scholarship provides up to&nbsp;<strong>$1,500<\/strong>&nbsp;per year to support the study of French at Transy.  Recipients of the scholarship must take at least one French class per year (French level 3 or above) and meet with the Director of Global and Intercultural Engagement once per term. Majoring or minoring in French is not required. Contact coach Dylan Osborne at dosborne@transy.edu for more information.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Christian Church (Disciples Of Christ) Scholarship<\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/disciples.org\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">The Christian Church (Disciples of Christ)<\/a> and Transylvania have been partners in education since 1865. As a result of this historic relationship, Transylvania is pleased to provide scholarships for DOC members to attend Transylvania.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Newly admitted students who indicate a DOC affiliation on their application for admission and provide verification of membership in a DOC congregation will be awarded a <strong>$3,000 scholarship per year ($12,000 over four years)<\/strong>. The DOC scholarship is renewable annually provided the student maintains satisfactory academic progress.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>To confirm that your church is a member of the Christian Church (Disciples of Christ), please use the <a href=\"https:\/\/disciples.org\/find-congregation\/\">Find a Congregation search tool<\/a> on their website or talk to your pastor or board. Proof of membership is required in order to receive this scholarship. For more information, email <a href=\"mailto:studentlife@transy.edu\">studentlife@transy.edu<\/a>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Youth Salute<\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p>Students who complete the Youth Salute program at Transylvania and are selected as a Youth Salute Scholar are eligible for an award of&nbsp;<strong>$1,000<\/strong>&nbsp;per year. This is a competitive scholarship.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Austin E. Knowlton Memorial Scholarship<\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p>The Austin E. Knowlton Memorial Scholarship is awarded to students who are residents of Ohio planning to major in a STEM field. Interested Ohio students may contact the Transylvania financial aid office for more details. This is a competitive scholarship.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>About Austin E. Knowlton<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Austin E. &#8220;Dutch&#8221; Knowlton, 1909-2003, was the owner and chairman of the Knowlton Construction Company, an organization started in Bellefontaine, Ohio, in 1937 and whose predecessors date back to 1906. Through his company, he was responsible for over 600 significant construction projects throughout Ohio and the Midwest, including school buildings, hospitals, libraries and post offices.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Transylvania Endowment Grants<\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p>Transylvania offers grants that are based on merit and financial need.
