Academic Services

Giving students the tools they need to succeed academically and personally is critical to Transylvania’s mission. Our academic resources include tutoring, research assistance, disability accommodations and much more.

Academic Center for Excellence

ACE, located on the lower floor of the library, offers a bulk of Transy’s academic assistance services. It’s where you’ll find help from faculty, staff and even fellow students in a range of areas.

Career Development

Career Development staff help students connect their talents and abilities with the right opportunities — from identifying their major and graduate school to securing internships and jobs for a strong start in their careers.

Study Abroad

The Office of Global and Intercultural Engagement helps students find opportunities to study abroad and gain valuable experience as global citizens. Its GlobalTransy program has more than 30 partner programs that allow students to use 100% of their Transy award money and federal/state aid to fund their experience.

100 Doors to Success

Transy’s unique mentorship program pairs students with successful alumni mentors who help guide them through their four years of college and into their careers.

Student Wellbeing

In addition to primary care medical services, the Department of Student Wellbeing helps students stay mentally and emotionally healthy by offering services for stress management, counseling, nutrition and more.

Accessibility Services and Title IX

Transy works to make sure that every student has an opportunity to succeed academically, no matter their physical or learning differences. The Office of Accessibility Services works closely with Title IX and other departments to offer necessary accommodations and equal access to learning opportunities.

Information Technology

Students have access to a range of hardware and software that will help them stay connected with their classes and be more efficient, whether on campus or off. Transy’s Digital Liberal Arts initiative encourages creative use of technologies to communicate in new and exciting ways, and spaces like the Digital Art Lab and podcasting and video studios are loaded with technology to help them achieve those goals.

Faculty Office Hours

Transy faculty are committed to the success of each of their students and work with them individually on their academic and career goals. Students can find their professor’s office hours in TNet under Faculty/Student Information.
