You can get a Doctor of Medicine degree (M.D.) or a Doctor of Osteopathic Medicine degree (D.O). For this timeline, it is suggested that all required coursework be completed by the end of the third year. However, if a student plans on applying to medical school after graduation, they can adjust their schedule accordingly.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>In order to be well prepared for MCAT, we strongly recommend that prospective applicants also complete courses in cell biology, statistics, anatomy and physiology, and upper-level biology courses.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\" id=\"h-competitive-applicants\">Competitive Applicants:<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Overall GPA: 3.8<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Science GPA (biology, chemistry, physics): 3.6<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>MCAT overall score: 506<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Factors that increase competitiveness:<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Community service\/volunteer the summer \u2014 preferably by early June, as many programs function on a rolling admission basis<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Some schools require professional readiness exams, such as the PREview and\/or fraternity), which give students leadership opportunities and connects them with volunteer and summer opportunities.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Pre-med students can obtain observation hours by connecting with a mentor through Transy&#8217;s <a href=\"https:\/\/www.transy.edu\/career-development\/100-doors-to-success\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">100 Doors Program<\/a>&nbsp;<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Research opportunities are available with many Transy faculty<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\"
