Transylvania’s professors are exceptional. They\u2019re passionate and knowledgeable about their subject matter and they show it in the classroom, which sparks students\u2019 own excitement for learning. They also know their students by name and take a keen interest in their academic progress and personal growth.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Of our tenured and tenure-track faculty<\/a>, 98 percent hold a Ph.D. or the highest degree in their field.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Transylvania professors make teaching excellence their first priority. This commitment to quality has been recognized with numerous honors, including Kentucky Professor of the Year awards six times in seven years.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Intimate classes and personal attention are hallmarks of Transylvania. Our average class size is 14, so students never have to sit in the back of a crowded lecture hall. In fact, nearly 50 percent of classes have 10 or fewer students. No classes have more than 35 students.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
