STEM Scholars: Eligibility

To be eligible for a STEM scholarship, you must:
  • Be a citizen or permanent resident of the United States.

  • Have demonstrated financial need as determined through the Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA).

  • Have satisfactorily completed at least three years of secondary school laboratory sciences (typically earth science, biology, chemistry, and/or physics).

  • Have an ACT composite score of 26 or higher and ACT science reasoning and ACT math scores of 26 or higher; OR, have an SAT (CR+M) of 1180 or higher and an SAT math score of 590 or higher.

  • Plan to enroll full-time as a Transylvania student. 

  • Plan to declare a major in biology, chemistry, computer science, mathematicsneuroscience, physics, or a self-designed major in the sciences, such as environmental science.
