Air Force ROTC Program

Air Force ROTC is one of the top leadership training programs in the country, helping students pay for college while gaining valuable experience that can lead them to a successful career.

Under an inter-institutional arrangement with the University of Kentucky, Transylvania offers qualified students an opportunity to participate in Air Force ROTC courses on the UK campus.

Scholarships are available, and students receiving Air Force ROTC scholarships must enroll for aerospace studies courses at the University of Kentucky.

These two- to four-year college scholarships are offered in all majors and cover:

  • Various amounts of tuition and fees
    • Type 1 has no cap
    • Type 2 is capped at $18,000
    • Type 7 is capped at $9,000.
  • A $900 textbook allowance
  • A $300-500 tax-free monthly stipend during the academic year.

In addition to the ROTC scholarships, Transylvania provides scholarships and grant assistance to cover the costs of room and board for all three- and four-year recipients. Upon graduation, recipients receive a commission as a second lieutenant in the U.S. Air Force.
