“The business and hospitality management courses I took at Transy opened the door to all the hospitality industry options. My Transy years were a wonderful experience.”
Catherine Prewitt got her first job in the hospitality industry through a connection with a hotel general manager in Lexington that was facilitated by Transylvania's Career Development Office. Once she got her foot in the door, her career was off and running—and hasn't slowed down since. Prewitt recently accepted a promotion to director of worldwide accounts for Hyatt Hotels and Resorts. Her sales responsibilities are directed toward corporations and associations throughout the world that are interested in holding their meetings and conventions at Hyatt properties.
She started in sales with the Hyatt Regency Lexington immediately after graduation from Transylvania with a business administration (hospitality emphasis) degree. After completing Hyatt's corporate management trainee program, she became sales manager. She then moved to Denver to sell for two Hyatt properties there before accepting her current position.
Transylvania University admits students regardless of age, race, color, ethnicity, religion, gender, sexual orientation, disability, veteran status, national origin, or any other classification protected by federal or state law or local ordinance.
