3.ADevelop action plans for addressing opportunities with BIPOC students, staff and faculty to address and eradicate structural disadvantages and systemic racism, including:


  1. Developing a post-baccalaureate achievement program based on the TRIO Ronald McNair Scholars model to increase Ph.D. attainment for students from disadvantaged backgrounds.
  2. Reviewing university policies and processes including recruitment and retention efforts to identify and address implicit bias.
  3. Completing inventory of historic markers, artwork and related items and assess appropriate placement or removal.
  4. Completing campus audit of providing a welcoming and supportive environment for  students, faculty, staff, alumni and visitors and determining action steps to address issues identified.
  5. Ensuring faculty have opportunities for professional development concerning inclusive and transparent pedagogies. 
  6. Revising recruiting and hiring practices and procedures. Identify and attract students, faculty and staff from diverse backgrounds.

3.BUndertake an updated study to determine specific strategies on pricing and related policies including, but not limited to, four-year level tuition plans for each incoming class.Sarah Coen

Cabinet discussions held regarding top research needs (pricing study, academic program demand study, branding study) and action plan. Pricing study will need to be conducted in early 2021; engaging research firm to undertake.

Proposals drafted for implementation for fall 2021 recruiting cycle for entering class of 2022. Next steps include:

  1. expanding candidate pools
  2. enhancing academic year and summer experiences for scholarship holders
  3. increasing marketing of program
  4. developing and utilizing alumni network
  5. addressing staffing needs to accomplish items 1-4.

Complete submission of materials for SACSCOC reaffirmation visit in fall 2021.

In progress. Each standard response narrative has been scored using a rubric of 1 (done/nearly done), 2 (still some work) or 3 (major work). As of Dec. 15, 65 standards are in category 1, three are in category 2, and none are in category 3. On track for submission of materials in February, off-site review in April and advisory visit in May leading up to full site visit in September.



Complete preparation of materials for QEP and focused report for SACSCOC in fall 2021.

QEP has been drafted for some early internal feedback and was presented to the faculty/staff in November. Work on next draft is in progress.


Complete NCAA Self-Study and Certification process.

Documentation and supporting materials, including completion of Title IX analysis, has been completed. Next and final step is to enter all information into online submission and submit.

Several steps undertaken or underway including:

  1. Updated university policies and procedures to meet federal deadline of 8/14/20
  2. Developed and delivered training for all investigators and hearing board members
