What\u2019s the value of a liberal arts degree?  Podcasters Chris Reeves and Joel Ford\nrecently spoke with Transylvania\u2019s interim Vice President of Enrollment Johnnie\nJohnson to help answer that question. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

Johnson appeared on the Get\nSchooled with Reeves and Ford podcast<\/a> to discuss his experience not only as\nan administrator, but as a student with a liberal arts education. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u201cThe liberal arts are known to help students to critically think, problem solve, analyze and write. Those skills can take you through any career,\u201d Johnson said. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

During the interview, Johnson discussed the perception that liberal arts graduates have fewer options after graduation. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u201cI would challenge anybody to go ask CEOs, presidents, vice presidents of corporations who they truly want to hire. They want to hire people who can think, that can problem solve. They can teach you the skills or the processes that the job would need, but they want people who can do things on their own, and that\u2019s what a liberal arts degree will teach students,\u201d Johnson explained. <\/p>\n\n\n\n
