Transylvania University President Seamus Carey on Tuesday\nannounced that incoming Vice President for Campaign Initiatives Steve Angelucci\nwill serve as the interim Vice President for Advancement beginning in June.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

A longtime Lexingtonian, Angelucci is transitioning to\nTransylvania after 10 years as president of Lexington Catholic\nHigh School. During his tenure, the school experienced unprecedented growth in\nenrollment and fundraising, including the launch of a capital campaign to\nsupport a planned campus renovation. In\nJanuary<\/a>, Carey announced that Angelucci would join the\nuniversity this summer to coordinate major fundraising initiatives. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

Angelucci has an extensive background not only in education, but\nalso in a variety of fields including athletics, marketing, fundraising and\ndentistry. He holds a bachelor\u2019s degree from the University of Kentucky, a\nmaster\u2019s degree in sports administration from Ohio University and a doctorate in\nmedical dentistry from the University of Kentucky College of Dentistry. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

Angelucci will be filling the position held by Marty\nSmith since July 2016. Smith is departing Transylvania for the University of\nTennessee at Chattanooga in May.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
