As you\u00a0visit with family and friends, and gear up for the final days of high school, it’s a great time to talk out your options and narrow down your college choices. A great way to do that is to look inside…literally<\/em>.<\/p>\n

Here’s our\u00a0easy three-step anatomical<\/em> process to help you make your college decision:<\/p>\n

1. Make your<\/strong>\u00a0HEAD<\/span>\u00a0list.<\/strong><\/h4>\n

Put pen to paper all of the data points, facts, and figures you found important in your research, from academics to extracurricular, from campus to city\/town life. Some students use pros and cons, some use comparison charts and Excel sheets. Whichever is best suited for you, take the time to get all of the important facts on paper. (Need help? 2. Make your\u00a0<\/strong>HEART<\/span>\u00a0list<\/strong>.<\/h4>\n

Now, consider your feelings. Where did you feel most comfortable<\/em> on your campus visit? Which had\u00a0students<\/em> with whom you could see yourself being friends? What city or town will you\u00a0enjoy<\/em>\u00a0most? What residential areas could you consider home<\/em>? Which school culture can you see best fitting into<\/em>?\u00a0Make sure your heart, especially outside the facts and figures, is in the right place.<\/p>\n

3. Go with your GUT<\/span><\/strong>.<\/h4>\n

Once you’ve settled your head and your heart, go with your gut. <\/em>Sometimes students don’t give their instinct the benefit of the doubt, but choose “what’s cheapest” or “where my friends are going.” Don’t let that be you.\u00a0It’s okay to be selfish when it comes to the college decision.
