LEXINGTON, Ky.\u2014Transylvania University invites the community to campus for the eighth annual PumpkinMania<\/a> on Oct. 30.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Hundreds of jack-o’-lanterns will light up the\nOld Morrison steps and student groups and campus organizations will host trick-or-treating\nthe night before Halloween. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u201cLast year, we had more than 5,000 people\nparticipate in PumpkinMania,\u201d said Hannah Piechowski, director of student\ntransitions and parent programming at Transylvania and PumpkinMania committee\nchair. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u201cAs this event continues to grow, we’ve added\nmore food trucks, an activities area for kids, more space for\ntrick-or-treating, as well as an information center and meeting location.\nPumpkinMania celebrates so many things I love about working at Transylvania\u2014a\nwonderful campus, amazing neighbors, the downtown community and fall,\u201d Piechowski\nsaid.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The event kicks off at 6 p.m. with trick-or-treating,\nlive music, food trucks and children\u2019s activities. The pumpkin lighting will be\nat 7 p.m.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

To get the pumpkins ready for the display, the\npublic is invited to help carve them on Sunday, Oct. 28, from 11 a.m. to 5 p.m.\nin Back Circle on the residential side of campus off West Fourth Street. Later\nthat evening, be sure to catch the PumpkinMania float in the Lexington\nHalloween Thriller Parade.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The jack-o\u2019-lanterns will be lit every night\nand remain on display until Nov. 2.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
