For Transylvania University donors, this creates a valuable opportunity to make the most of giving before Dec. 31, 2025, and continue shaping the Transy experience for years to come.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\" id=\"h-why-acting-now-matters\"><strong>Why acting now matters<\/strong><\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p>If you itemize your taxes, gifts made before the end of 2025 will be deductible under the current, more favorable tax rules.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Beginning Jan. 1, 2026, a new giving \u201cfloor\u201d will be enacted, meaning the first 0.5% of your income that is contributed to nonprofits will no longer be tax deductible. Also, for high-income donors in the 37% tax bracket, the new laws will limit itemized charitable deductions to 35% of your income.<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Many donors are expected to bundle their 2025 and 2026 giving into one larger gift this calendar year. By doing so, they can take full advantage of the current tax environment while making a meaningful difference for Transy students right now.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Others may choose to contribute larger gifts to a donor-advised fund, or DAF, before Dec. 31.
