Transylvania students may notice that the interior of one of the campus\u2019 academic buildings has been transformed this fall term. That\u2019s thanks to the generous donation of Buddy \u201965 and Judy Cowgill \u201964, who funded renovations to the original construction encompassing classrooms, the building\u2019s lobby and faculty and staff offices.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Originally built in 1999, the Cowgill Center for Business, Economics and Education received a refresh this summer that included the addition of LED lights and controls, a new ceiling grid and acoustic ceiling tile, luxury vinyl tile flooring and carpet throughout the space, a fresh coat of paint, and all-new furniture. The overall effect of these upgrades is impressive to behold.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u201cThe renovations to the Cowgill Center give it a fresh and inviting appearance, and the new classroom furniture gives us flexibility to reconfigure student seating as needed for different teaching and learning styles,\u201d said Rebecca Thomas, vice president for academic affairs and dean of the university. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

The renovations were specifically designed to enhance the academic experience for Transylvania students, in part by creating a welcoming and flexible environment ripe for\u00a0collaboration between students and their faculty and classmates.\u00a0<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u201cThe modern casual seating throughout the building’s public areas offer places to relax or study, with options for sitting alone or in small groups,\u201d Thomas added. \u201cI am thrilled with the renovations and deeply thankful to Mr. and Mrs. Cowgill for this wonderful facility.\u201d<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
