Transylvania University was named the Heartland Collegiate Athletic Conference (HCAC) Women’s All-Sports Champion following the 2021-22 campaign. The Pioneers accumulated 77.845 points in the standings to garner the award, capturing their fourth overall women’s title.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The Pioneers had a strong year to ignite their chase to the Women’s All-Sports title, with regular season titles in women\u2019s tennis, women\u2019s basketball, women\u2019s lacrosse, and softball. Transylvania also claimed runners up finishes in the regular season standings in women’s golf, volleyball, and women\u2019s swimming and diving.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Holly Sheilley, vice president of athletics, leads the Transylvania athletic department.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Hanover College narrowly finished in second in the women\u2019s standings with 76.17 points while Rose-Hulman Institute of Technology took third with 65.33 points. Franklin College finished in fourth with 60 points while Anderson University rounded out the top five with 56 points. Mount St. Joseph University (50), Manchester University (44.5), Bluffton University (39), Earlham College (34.49) and Defiance College (21.665) rounded out the standings.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The award has been handed out to the most successful women’s athletic department in the conference since 1994 when the conference was known as the Indiana Collegiate Athletic Conference.                        <\/p>\n\n\n\n

There are 11 women’s sports sponsored by the HCAC. The women compete in tennis, golf, soccer, cross country, volleyball, basketball, swimming and diving, softball, lacrosse, and indoor\/outdoor track & field. Teams earn points for their institution by placing in each sport’s championship.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
