\"\"LEXINGTON Ky.\u2013Actor Steve Zahn<\/a> will deliver Transylvania University\u2019s commencement address on Saturday, May 25, at 9:30 a.m. on the steps of historic Old Morrison.<\/p>\n

Zahn had his first big break in the 1994 movie \u201cReality Bites.\u201d He appeared in several films in the mid-1990s, including Tom Hanks’ \u201cThat Thing You Do!\u201d and Nora Ephron’s \u201cYou’ve Got Mail.\u201d <\/p>\n

In 1999, he was offered the starring role in the critically acclaimed film \u201cHappy, Texas,\u201d for which he won an Independent Spirit Award for best supporting male and a Special Dramatic Jury Prize for best comedic performance.<\/p>\n

Zahn received his strongest critical acclaim for his performance as Drew Barrymore\u2019s husband in \u201cRiding in Cars with Boys.\u201d Roger Ebert, Richard Roeper and the BBC stated that the performance was deserving of an Oscar nomination.<\/p>\n

Some of Zahn’s popular recent movies include \u201cNational Security\u201d (2003), \u201cDaddy Day Care\u201d (2003) and \u201cSahara\u201d (2005). He also gave dramatic performances in \u201cRescue Dawn\u201d and the television mini-series \u201cComanche Moon.\u201d Currently, Zahn plays the character of Davis McAlary in HBO’s \u201cTreme.\u201d<\/p>\n

Zahn attended the Institute for Advanced Theatre Training founded by the American Repertory Theater at Harvard University.<\/p>\n
