LEXINGTON, Ky. \u2014 Transylvania President Charles L. Shearer announced today that after an extensive search, Bradley L. Goan has been named director
of admissions, effective August 15. Deana Ison, senior associate director of admissions, has been serving as interim director.<\/p>\n
Goan has served as the director of the Robinson Scholars Program at the University of Kentucky for the past five years. He has also served U.K. as
\n assistant director of undergraduate admission and as admissions counselor. <\/p>\n
\u201cI\u2019m really pleased to have Mr. Goan join the Transylvania staff in this very important role,\u201d said President Charles L. Shearer. \u201cBrad
\n brings a great deal of experience and knowledge to this position, and Transylvania is fortunate to have him join our admissions efforts.\u201d <\/p>\n
Reporting to the president, the admissions director is responsible for all programs related to Transylvania\u2019s recruitment, admission and enrollment
\n efforts. <\/p>\n

Transylvania\u2019s enrollment has grown to capacity over the past few years, and this year\u2019s entering class will be smaller by design.<\/p>\n
Goan holds an M.A. in history from U.K. and a B.A. in history from the University of Tennessee, Knoxville. <\/p>\n
Transylvania, founded in 1780, is the nation\u2019s sixteenth oldest institution of higher learning and is consistently ranked in national publications
