After extensive conversations with campus leadership, Transylvania University Interim President John Williams announced the following initial actions taken by the university in response to the current COVID-19 health crisis.

A former poet laureate himself, Transylvania professor Richard Taylor looks forward to this month’s visit by U.S. Poet Laureate Joy Harjo. “I think it’s a big deal for Kentucky,” Taylor said.

Transylvania to host Liberal Arts + Feminism Wikipedia Edit-a-thon on Feb. 29
Transylvania is making its mark on improving Wikipedia’s gender equality — in fact, the school’s participation numbers in the nationwide Arts + Feminism Wikipedia Edit-a-thon last year were among the largest in the country. Organizers hope to keep the momentum going Saturday, Feb. 29, for the school’s fourth annual event.
