Transylvania food service provider Bon Appétit participated in an Eat Local Challenge earlier this week, serving up a dinner in the school’s Great Hall with all the ingredients sourced no more than 150 miles away.
From a longtime clean energy advocate to the U.S. poet laureate, speakers in Transylvania’s 2021-22 Creative Intelligence series will encourage a spirit of dialogue along the lines of this academic year’s theme: “Bridging Chasms.”
Appalachian writer Robert Gipe, winner of Transylvania’s 2021 Judy Gaines Young Book Award, will give a public reading from his works on campus Oct. 13.
The stage is set for Transylvania Theater’s 2021-22 season, which features an eclectic collection of student-driven shows and a “fitting” exhibit to honor a retiring costume designer.
