Transylvania community to write Love Letters for Literacy on Saturday

The Transylvania community will participate in the local Freedom March and various service projects for Martin Luther King Jr. Day, which is a National Day of Service.
Transylvania University will present a screening of Anne Lewis’ documentaries “Evelyn Williams” and “On Our Own Land” followed by a lecture and conversation with the longtime Appalshop director on Wednesday, Jan. 15.
Beginning with the Grammy-winning Kronos Quartet in 2007, Transylvania University has drawn world-class musicians — and audience members from throughout the region — to campus each year for the Dorothy J. and Fred K. Smith Endowed Concert Series.
This Transy tradition allows students a moment of stress-free time during finals week, as well as a time to share with friends, faculty and staff as the semester comes to a close.
