Sophie Schwab ’11 likes to tell her students that biology is her first love. Convincing them of its relevance in every facet of their lives is, perhaps, her second. Within the first several years of teaching, she has received two student-nominated awards, one from Barnes & Noble, the other from Fayette County Schools.
Betsy May was willing to be adaptable in her job search after graduating from Transylvania in 2008; she sought roles that she could grow into and learn from — her current one is with Keeneland Race Course.
Jewell Boyd ’19 didn’t have to move to New York City to work in the publishing industry. She interned at the nearby University Press of Kentucky, where she landed a job after graduation.
As the program director for the Kentucky Inclusive Health Collaborative and the adoptive mother of a young girl with Down syndrome, Lindsey Powell Mullis ’06 is committed to providing equitable health for people with disabilities.
