Senior Thesis Exhibition: Katelynn Ralston

Katelynn Ralston

Untitled (detail), 2013
Fired clay
15.5” x 9.5” x 16” each head
Installation, 4 foot diameter

“Untitled” portrays several dominant emotions - compassion, shame, anxiety, numbness and anger - that Ralston encountered and examined through weekly therapy sessions. Each representative bust sits in a tight circle, almost shoulder to shoulder, to exclude the audience from their private conversation. Through this exclusion, the piece represents Ralston’s own private and internal conversations with herself and her past.
