Reception for the artists: Friday, May 16, Time TBA
Graduating art majors Patrick Smith and David Soulis present the culmination of
their arts training in this Senior Thesis Exhibition, entitled Dinosaur Dance.
Patrick Smith presents a collection of acrylic paintings examining violence in contemporary culture. At once funny and disturbing, Smith's paintings are a candid look at youth culture's observations of American culture.
David Soulis has meticulously rephotographed significant historical sites in Lexington, Kentucky resulting in detailed before and after images. Changes in architecture, green space, and urban requirements are clearly seen in these fascinating pairings.
The Morlan Gallery is open weekdays, noon to 5 p.m.
