Travel and Study OpportunitiesDr. Frank Russell offers courses in ancient history, warfare, and espionage, as well as ancient Greek. He frequently takes students abroad to the eastern Mediterranean for courses on the ancient city (with prof. Fosl) and biblical archeology (with prof. Jones). His special interest is Greek political and military intelligence; he is currently working on ideas of just war in antiquity. Contact (859) 233-8230 or frussell@transy.edu.
The Classics club at Transy, Sodalitas, holds regular meetings, sponsors conferences on campus, attends public lectures in the area, gets together to work on projects (e.g. cleaning and attributing ancient coins, battle reenactments), and to enjoy social occasions.
Transy is home to the Theta Eta Chapter of the national Classics honorary Eta Sigma Phi.
