The Crucible
By Arthur Miller
October 30, 31, November 6, 7, 8 @ 7:30 pm; and November 1 and 2 @ 2 pm
In Salem, Massachusetts, 1692, John Proctor is arrested for witchcraft. But
lurking beneath the charge is sexual vengeance, societal persecution, and
religious intolerance. Written in 1953 in response to the hysteria of the
McCarthy-led and viciously indiscriminant search for Communists in public
service, Arthur Miller’s classic drama resonates today as a strong statement
opposing Constitutional compromises, human rights violations, and
politically-motivated patriotism.

Miss Margarida's Way
A One Woman Show by Roberto Athayde
November 20, 21, and 22 @ 7:30 pm
An experiment in both learning and terror, Miss Margarida's Way takes the
larger allegory of totalitarianism and transplants it to the classroom, wherein
the teacher-as-dictator seduces, confuses, and terrorizes her students into
submission. Simultaneously comedic and tragic, Miss Margarida's Way
offers an intimate actor/audience experience that undoubtedly will change every
night!
Performed by Brittny Congleton as a Senior Seminar Production

Tartuffe
By Moliere, translated by Richard Wilbur
February 19, 20, 21, 26, 27, 28 @ 7:30 pm; February 22 @ 2 pm
Tartuffe: man of the cloth or master of deceit? This slick charmer, posing as a
devout Christian, oozes into a private household and disrupts it entirely,
manipulating the gullible and silencing the sensible. Moliere’s 1667 comic
masterpiece, critical of both the deceivers and the mindlessly deceived, is a
delightful wonder of sparkling language and biting satire.
