Information for Faculty

The Career Development Center facilitates the professional development of students by complementing the academic preparation they receive in your classroom. This professional development spans students’ four-year career at Transy, beginning with exploration of majors and careers, moving through experiential learning opportunities such as job shadowing and internships, and culminating with professional skills development to facilitate the job search or entrance to a graduate or professional program.

As a faculty member, you play a central role in assisting students with their career exploration. From advising and course planning to mentoring and providing education through the curriculum, your guidance and teaching help students make connections between coursework and the world of work. Your referrals and promotion of Career Development's services and resources are of great help to us—and to students.

This site provides you with information about the services that the Career Development Center makes available to our students and alumni.  We encourage you to review it and contact us with any questions or ask for any assistance you may need.

What You Should Know About Us
  • We believe strongly in the value of a liberal arts education.

  • Our goal is to help students understand, appreciate, and communicate the value of their liberal arts education in the workplace.

  • We do not express a preference for any major to our students.

  • We believe that every major provides a valuable learning experience and set of skills for our graduates, and that students’ ultimate vocational decision does not rest on the choice of major.

  • We encourage students to fully explore the curriculum before making career decisions.

  • We believe in the importance of close ties to each program and strive to support students with the best possible internship, graduate school, and employer connections.
