Transfer Students

Transfer students should submit the following for admissions consideration:

  1. Admissions application and essay
Applicants may use the Transylvania paper application, the "click and print application", or the Common Application. (Please note: Our "click and print" application is in Adobe Acrobat format [PDF]. If you do not have the free Adobe Acrobat plug-in, please visit Adobe.com).

Note! The Common Application website is temporarily unavailable due to yearly maintenance. During this time, you can “Click and Print” our paper application and the $30 fee for submitting a paper application will be waived.  Please call the Office of Admissions with any questions at 1-800-872-6798.

  2. Final, official high school transcript

  3. Official college transcripts
Applicants should submit transcripts from all colleges attended. College transcripts issued to the student for delivery are not considered official.

  4. Official ACT and/or SAT scores
Transylvania will accept official score reports from the testing organization as well as ACT and/or SAT scores appearing on official high school transcripts.

  5. Two letters of recommendation
The letters should be written by two individuals closely acquainted with your academic work. At least one letter must come from a college instructor or adviser. The two recommendations can come from any combination of the following:
    • Professors or high school teachers who taught you in the past two years or your academic adviser should complete the Professor's Evaluation and Recommendation and mail it to the Office of Admissions.
    • If you graduated from high school within the past year, you may ask your high school counselor to complete the Counselor's Evaluation and Recommendation as one of your recommendations and mail it to the Office of Admissions.
