PHIL 3214 – Social Theory of Karl Marx

An examination of the critical and humanistic foundations of Marx's theory of society and politics. The course will focus topically on the major components of Marx's thought, including human nature, social relations, alienation, exploitation, the historical development of capitalist society, the role of the state and ideology, and visions of future society.
