Our faculty is academically outstanding, with more than 96 percent of tenured professors holding the Ph.D. or highest degree in their field.
Transylvania professors make teaching excellence their first priority. This commitment to quality has been recognized with numerous honors, including Kentucky Professor of the Year awards six times in seven years.
Small classes and personal attention are hallmarks of Transylvania. Our average class size is 17, so students never have to sit in the back of a crowded lecture hall. In fact, many of our classes have fewer than 10 students. On average, there is one faculty member for every 13 students.
