|Burt, Schmitt, and Shepp|
Three Transylvania students have been selected to attend the prestigious 2012 Yale University Interdisciplinary Institute for Bioethics Summer Internship Program. They will spend two months in residence at Yale studying cutting-edge bioethical issues with undergraduate and graduate students from across the country and around the world.
The three students are sophomores Carrie Anne Burt, Nicholasville, Ky., and Alex Schmitt, Fort Mitchell, Ky., and junior Emily Shepp, Mayfield, Ky.
Past Transylvania students have performed so impressively in the program that Yale set aside a slot specifically for a Transylvania student each summer, with the possibility of additional students being accepted. Transylvania has had two students selected for the same summer session in the past, but this is the first time that three have been chosen.
Transylvania University admits students regardless of age, race, color, ethnicity, religion, gender, sexual orientation, disability, veteran status, national origin, or any other classification protected by federal or state law or local ordinance.
