Root, root, rooting for the home team is a big part of student life at Transylvania. Our athletics have boasted great success over the years, dating all the way back to 1880, when Transylvania beat Centre College 13 3/4 to 0 in the first recorded football game in the south. The victories keep on rolling today—in the past year, the men’s and women’s tennis, men’s and women’s soccer, men’s golf, and softball teams won the Heartland Collegiate Athletic Conference championship and played in the NCAA Division III Tournament.
20 sports and several outstanding venues to watch them in, you’ll almost always have an outlet to show your school pride with athletics.
Transylvania University admits students regardless of age, race, color, ethnicity, religion, gender, sexual orientation, disability, veteran status, national origin, or any other classification protected by federal or state law or local ordinance.
