Named for former Transylvania President Charles L. Shearer, the art building provides studios for drawing and design, painting, sculpture, ceramics, and photography.
Faculty members have their own studios, located for convenient interaction with students. A student gallery, a tool room, and other rooms dedicated to single tasks like mixing plaster are conducive to artistic functions.
